THE TAXI RIDE
CUT TO: EXT. QUITE, DARK STREET – NIGHT

JENNY is waiting for a cab to go home after a night out. She is staggers a little as she walks because she is quite drunk. A taxi stops near her and she jumps in. (Slight background noise of distant cars and drunken people)
INT. TAXI - NIGHT
JENNY
Tooley Street please, by London Bridge station?

There is the sound of dimmed classical music playing from the radio. The DRIVER doesn’t reply.
JENNY
Hello, can you please?
TAXI MAN
Yeah (in a low, depressed voice)
JENNY:
Thank you

(Jenny begins to realise that the man is weird and keeps quite)
TAXI MAN:
What’s your name then?

JENNY:
We seem to be going the wrong way, oh and Julie.
By now they are in a quiet, dark side-road and the TAXI MAN suddenly stops
              JENNY:
What are you doing? Let me out!
              TAXI MAN:
Calm down, I’m stopping for a reason.
The TAXI MAN is being genuine and JENNY has sobered up by now
              JENNY:
Can you please tell me what’s going on?
              TAXI MAN:
I’m from N I 5, I’m protecting you, and someone dangerous was waiting for you at Tooley Street. I didn’t tell you then in case you drew attention to us; freaking out and stuff.
              JENNY:
How do you know me, and am I safe now. How can I trust you?
              TAXI MAN:
Jenny it’s me Lewis, you worked with us!
The man peels of a skin mast, showing his true identity
              JENNY:
LEWIS! It’s you! But I haven’t worked with you lot for age’s
              TAXI MAN (LEWIS)
I know, and yes you are safe now.

UNIT 2 EVALUATION

UNIT 2 EVALUATION
Skills
1.       Print (magazines) – For this section of the unit we had to create our own magazine front covers, articles for our magazine, 3 column layout and double page spread.  We had to learn how to use different files such as ‘InDesign’ and ‘Photoshop’. This helped us to successfully complete tasks effectively and professionally.
Audio (radio) – For this section we used a programme called ‘Audacity Sound’. We had to import a piece of unedited sound of people talking on the radio and edit it. This involved deleting, using the time shift tool, selection tool, envelope tool and many more. Eventually we would have had a piece of edited sound that we would then evaluate and put on our blogs.
Video – This section involved using a programme called ‘Premiere Pro’. Again we had to import a video that hadn’t been edited and follow a step by step video given out by my teacher to help us use the programme and edit the video. We had to pick out important parts of the video to make it better. After we had successfully edited the video, we then had to evaluate it and put it on our blog.

2.       The skills I have learnt by doing these activities are independence and self evaluators. I learnt to be independent because my teacher or peers around may have been busy so they couldn’t help me so therefore I had to figure things out for myself. I learnt the skill of self evaluating due to the fact that we had to be able to understand where we had made mistakes and where we could improve our work.
3.       The skills I could do before I started this unit were work confidently with ‘Photoshop’ and use all Microsoft programmes such as ‘Publisher’ or ‘Word’. Apart from this, I didn’t know how to use any of the other programmes so I learnt a lot from this unit.

Research
4.       I think I worked very well when I had to do research for my products.  I think I created effective and clear mood boards when I had to find out about a certain target audience and when doing my survey on ‘Survey Monkey’, I think that it was successful as I used a range of questions and ways of answering them to make it clear and professional for people to do.
5.       The methods of research I used to help me investigate my target audience was creating a questionnaire, mood boards and writing articles about a particular target audience.
Individual work
6.       I had many opportunities to work on my own. For example when editing a video or creating a questionnaire; it involved my imagination only and allowed me to have choices in what I do. Also when designing a website front cover or magazine front cover; although I have a certain target audience to stick to, I can expand on ideas more so I think I done well when having to work on my own.
Group work
7.       When designing a story board, we was able to help each other and we worked in groups when finding out what certain words professionals use when making a story board. E.g. fade, eye line match etc.
8.       I think I worked reasonably okay when working as a member of a group. I find it easier to work alone so it was hard to work in a group of 3+. However when writing an article, we worked in groups and we all finished successfully so this is my evidence proving that it can be done.
9.       Group members from other groups would say that my contribution to group work is positive although I could do more work when being alone as I wouldn’t get distracted as easily.
10.    When working in a group, there have been times when people have also not enjoyed working as a group. In this situation I tried to encourage them to join in however if they weren’t responding or still not enjoying the task, me and my group would discuss if there was anything that particular person could do to help however be independent when doing it. For example finding facts about something on the internet.
Creativity
11.    I would give my creativity to my work and ideas a rating of 8 out of 10. I think this because for the magazines section of this unit, I joined 2 pieces of work to save time. When doing a task, depending on how confident I was with the programme, this would affect how well my work came out. For example I am extremely confident with ‘Photoshop’ therefore all my work I created using Photoshop would be good and creative.
12.    For my overall work produced for a media product compared to how the idea was originally planned, not everything came out as well as I planned it to be as I had to make changes or do something completely different. For example when writing a script; I had a good idea however it was too hard to put into words for it to make sense so I had to make changes from my original idea.
Using equipment and applications
13.    A. Photoshop – very confident
B. InDesign – fairly confident
C. Premiere – need more practice / not confident
D. Audacity – very confident

Strengths and Weaknesses
14.    The areas that I think are my strengths were creating and evaluating target audiences and mood boards and using Photoshop.
15.    The areas that I think are my weaknesses are video editing and writing scripts
16.    TEAMWORK
17.    Independent enquirers. If you have been given a task to complete by your work; to do on your own, you need to be able to do it to your best of your ability

TO FIX OR NOT TO FIX? THAT’S THE QUESTION
Lately the viewers of ‘X-FACTOR’ have been discussing the issues within the show. They strongly believe that the fairness of voting has been compromised by the judges. Sources have said that there are fixed votes towards the contestants of the show. This leads the public to feel deceived as it is meant to be ‘your choice’ and believe there may be scandals involved because as the show clearly states, ‘it’s down to you at home’ – is it really? It is also believed that there have been arguments between the contestants; mainly the girls. Cher Lloyd has said to be ‘not giving up without a fight’ It is clear that as the show comes to an end, the contestants are feeling the pressure which leads us to believe that the arguments will occur big time!!!

THE BIG FREEZE
The UK has been hit by the ‘big freeze’. Most of the nation’s schools have been affected by the snow. Travel for most has caused chaos, injuries or death. Families have been snowed in their own homes due to the snow. Police are on the hunt for the snowman thief!

Women aged between14-45. It may appeal to men as well but mainly women. They are quite worried about their appearance and would like to learn more about how society as a whole views women. The programme appeals to all races however the women are quite girlie
